Colour Reference Library — 69 Hex Codes with Full Conversions

HEX · RGB · HSL · CMYK · WCAG contrast · tints, shades and harmonies

One page per colour, each carrying the full set of conversions and the contrast arithmetic that decides whether text can sit on it. Colours are grouped by hue family so a scale is easy to scan, and every figure on a page is recomputed from the hex code rather than copied from a table.

Frequently asked questions

How were these colours chosen?
They are the named colours a designer is most likely to be handed: the Material palette at full strength, the CSS colour keywords that appear in real stylesheets, and a neutral ramp from near-white to near-black. Each entry is a hex code with a fixed, verifiable conversion rather than a mood.

What does each page compute?
HEX to RGB to HSL to CMYK, WCAG relative luminance and perceived brightness, contrast against white and black with the AA and AAA verdicts, six tints and shades, and five harmony rotations. All of it derives from the hex code, so nothing on the page can drift out of sync with the converter.

Paste any other hex, or check two colours against each other, in the ColrShift converter and WCAG contrast checker.
