Privacy Policy

ColrShift ("we", "us") runs colrshift.com. Set out below is what we do with information and what you can choose. In one line: the color values you type is handled inside the browser and never leaves your device.
Scope of this policy
ColrShift does one thing — as a color converter and contrast checker it converts colors between HEX, RGB, HSL and CMYK, checks WCAG AA and AAA contrast against black and white, and generates five harmony palettes. It converts every format through a common RGB representation, then computes the relative luminance of the two colors to get the WCAG contrast ratio you can compare against the 4.5:1 and 3:1 thresholds. What follows concerns only that tool and the inputs involved in it.
Everything the tool works with — the color values you type — is handled locally. It is usually reached for things like building a palette that stays legible, and because nothing is transmitted a visitor can close the tab knowing no copy was made anywhere.
The inputs you provide
All processing happens on your device. Your input is handed to the page's own script, a result comes back, and that is the whole exchange. No request leaves your machine, and no copy of what you entered exists once the tab is closed.
The rights you have
You may have statutory rights over personal data — to access, amend, erase or object to its processing, depending on your jurisdiction. You can exercise them by writing to us; in most cases there will be no stored data to act on.
Updates to this page
This policy is reviewed when the site changes. Any material revision is shown by the "last updated" date at the top of the page.
Information collected as you browse
Delivering a page necessarily produces some technical detail at the edge: an IP address, a browser string, the path requested and when. ColrShift uses that only to serve and protect the site. It is not stitched together with whatever you enter into the tool.
How cookies and adverts work here
The only cookie we set ourselves is a small preference flag for the consent notice. Advertising is served by third parties, and those partners may place their own cookies to tailor the ads you see. You can refuse or clear them in your browser without losing any functionality — the tool itself has no dependency on cookies.
Analytics
Any measurement we do is statistical rather than personal: how many people opened a page, roughly where from, and which tools get used. It is aggregated before it is read, and the values you type are never part of it.
Data you paste into a tool
Code, configuration, tokens and API payloads you paste into a tool are processed locally. Nothing is uploaded, so nothing leaves a copy on a server — which also means you can use the tool on a string you would not want to send anywhere.
Security and data retention
No personal calculation data is held by us at any point, which makes retention a non-issue for the tool. The site itself is delivered over encrypted connections and kept up to date.
Children
These tools are built for a general adult audience rather than for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13, and would remove it on being told.
